Text: From: Bette Brown [mailto:bettebrown36@gmail.com] She died 28 years ago today. On Jun 2, 2015, at 2:26 PM, Cyndy Solon <csolon@comcast.net> wrote: I know she died on June 2nd, but in this part of the world, she died June 1st. I still have a vivid memory of that night. I was in class over in Seattle that went to 10:30 that night. We had a break around 9:00 that night, and during that break, all of a sudden I grabbed all my stuff and headed home. I had no idea why I was doing that. The finals for that class were the following week and I wasn’t doing so great in the class, so I wanted to be there when the teacher went over what we should be studying for, and doing the review of everything. When the break began, the thought of leaving definitely wasn’t even in my head. I needed every advantage I could get on that final. Yet there I was, driving home, and wondering what’s wrong with me. As soon as I got home and walked in the door, mom called with the news. It was around 10:30 at night on June 1st, so a lot of times on June 1st, that night 28 years ago flashes through my head. I sure miss her. Natalie Hansen June 2, 2015 8:40 PM (2 hours ago) to Cyndy, me, Lloyd I didn't get the call until early morning as I got ready for work. On Sunday, a friend posted on Facebook a lovely photo of seashore with an empty bench. She asked the question: If you could sit here for an afternoon with anyone past or present ....who would it be? I'm sort of in shock right now because it never occurred to me at all that we were near the anniversary of her death when I replied: My Grandma Brown. The rest of the day I thought how much I really miss her. Natalie |
