Text: Obituary He was born May 21, 1911, in Scroggsfield, to Milt and Ida (Howlett) Dinger. He was retired from New York Central and Penn Central Railroad as a laborer and foreman. He was an honorary life member of the Minerva Sportsman Club and a charter member of the Augusta Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Lucy (Fisher) Dinger; four daughters, Jean Schindler of Massillon, Linda Amelung of Minerva, Sandy (Bill) Flanigan of Minerva Stephanie (Tom Rhodes) Dinger of Augusta; three sons, Richard “Dick” (Ellen) Dinger of Augusta, Ronald “Ron” (Sheila) Dinger of Augusta, Dennis (Connie) Dinger of Minerva; one brother, Harry Dinger of Augusta; 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary McLaughlin, Bertha Packard, Alice Bennett and Emma Wagner; and one brother George Dinger. Funeral services were held Saturday in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Bill Bush officiating. Burial was in the Augusta Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Augusta Volunteer Fire Department. |
