Citation details: 31 Dec 1875, Fri, pg 1, col 6 Text: JOHN H SHAW, Auditor of Carroll Co, died suddenly on Tuesday last. He was taken sick in his office and was removed to his boarding house, and his family that lived nine miles distant was sent for, but he died before their arrival. A post mortem examination showed that his disease was inflamation of the bowels. He was 53 years old, and was one of the most esteemed and excellent men of Carroll Co. |

Citation details: FREE PRESS STANDARD - 24 Aug 1916 Text: Henry Shaw, 92, died Friday night in his home at Augusta. For years he was prominent in the nursery business. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Shaw, and a son, John Shaw, the latter lving in Alliance. Seveal years ago on the occasion of the seventy ___ anniversary of the building of the Disciple church at Augusta, a picture was taken by the pastor of six couple(s), whose average age was 86-years, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Norris. Theywere Mr. and Mrs. Shaw, Mr. and Mrs. Norris, Mr. and Mrs. William Ashbrook, Mr. and Mrs. Seth Ball, Mr. and Mrs. Roland Pennock, Mr. and Mrs. Jehu Marshall. The survivors are Mrs. Shaw and Mr. Norris. |
