Barbara was born in Riverview, MI on March 29, 1931, the daughter of the late Fredrick and Mary (Oltz) Gorham. She was a member of Carrollton Baptist Temple where she taught third grade Sunday School for many years. She was a loving and dedicated Christian wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed reading and camping. Barbara is survived by her husband of forty-eight years, Lawrence "Chick" Underwood; a daughter, Peggie (Bud) Reed of Southgate, Mich.; three sons David (Shawn) Underwood of Alliance, Fredrick (Darla) Underwood of East Rochester, and Dan (Denise)Underwood of Alliance; grandchildren Nathan, Megan, Laken, Morgan, Tyler, Michael, Eric, and Steven; two sisters, Carol Cash of Trenton, Mich., Mary Ellen Perry of Ferndale, Mich.; two brothers, Charles Gorham of Quitman, Ark., Carl Gorham ofFlatrock, Mich. She is preceded in death by a granddaughter Elizabeth, brothers Edward, Dick, Bill, Skip, Freddie Lee; and sister Peggy. Funeral Services will be held at the Carrollton Baptist Temple, at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 28th, 2009 with Pastor David L. Powell officiating. Calling hours will be held Sunday 6 - 9 p.m. at the Bartley Funeral Home, Minerva and Monday, Sept28th one hour before services at Carrollton Baptist Temple. Burial will be in Augusta Cemetery.
