Sam J Iden, 86, of 852 Grant St, Minerva died suddenly at his home this morning. Mr Iden, who spent his lifetime in the Minerva area, was born near Augusta Feb 4, 1885, the son of John [Edwin W] and [Laura] Matilda Rodebaugh Iden. He was a retired railroad inspector with the former New York Central Railroad. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Minerva and the Loyal Men's Bible Class.
Survivors include his wife, Neata Roudebush Iden, of the home; two sons, Loyal of East Rochester, and Russell of Alliance; a daughter Mrs Myrna Toalston of California; seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Bartley Funeral Home Tuesday 1:30 pm with Mr Arthur Guy of the Minerva First Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
