Genevieve A. Tinlin Genevieve A. Tinlin, age 93, of 23 S. Ohio Street, Dellroy, died Tuesday afternoon, May 11, 2004, in the Hennis Care Center at Dover from complications of a long illness. She was a retired employee of the former Scio Pottery where she worked from 1960 until 1975. She had worked for five years at the former Reed’s IGA in Carrollton, but Genevieve was primarily a homemaker. She was born June 22, 1910, near Mechanicstown in Carroll Co., OH, the daughter of the late Addision D. and Ollie Manfull Thompson. Genevieve was an active member of the Dellroy United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women of the churchand had also served on the church council. She was a life member of the Carroll County Historical Society, a member of the Carrollton Camera Club and the Conotton Valley Senior Citizens. She served as a former Noble Grand of the Orange RebekahLodge #784 where she was a member for more than 70 years. She was actively involved with the Algonquin Mill and was generally active in the events of her community. For quiet time, Genevieve enjoyed quilting. On July 31, 1979, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Tinlin, who she married August 25, 1927; a son, Virgil Tinlin; a son-in-law, Rodney Robinson; and two grandsons. She is survived by four sons and two daughters, Rae (Helen) Tinlin of Dellroy, Harold (Tucky) Tinlin of Carrollton, Richard “Dick” (Cherrie) Tinlin of East Sparta, Paul (Wanda) Tinlin of Dellroy and Alice Marie Robinson and Mrs. Bob (Betty)Leggett, both of Sherrodsville; a daughter-in-law, Pat Tinlin of Dellroy; a sister-in-law, Thelma Ray of Canton, OH; 19 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, May 15, 2004, in the Dellroy United Methodist Church with Pastor John Wood officiating. Interment will be in the Leavittsville Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home in Sherrodsville and Saturday one hour prior to services at the church. Rae C. Tinlin Rae C. Tinlin, age 72, of 6260 Roswell Rd. SW, Sherrodsville, died Wednesday morning, June 9, 2004, in his residence surrounded by his loving family. Rae retired in 1994 as a carpenter for Carpenter?s Union Local No. 69 in Canton, O., after 25 years? service. He had also worked for 10 years for G. Bear Inc. at Plain City, O., and as a roofer in Cleveland, O. He was born Oct. 22, 1931, in Dellroy, O., and was the son of the late Charles L. Tinlin and Genevieve Adeline Thompson Tinlin, who died May 11, 2004. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Virgil Tinlin; a brother-in-law, Rodney Robinson;and two nephews, Bruce and Richard Tinlin. Rae proudly served his country as a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, was a member of the Dellroy United Methodist Church, the Fraternal Order of Eagles at Carrollton, O., the Carrollton VFW Post No. 2291, the Carroll County Vet?s Club, and wasa former member of the Sherrodsville American Legion Post. Rae was known as an avid fisherman and an accomplished bowler. He was a finish carpenter who enjoyed woodworking as a hobby following retirement. He is survived by his wife, Helen L. Fousek Tinlin, whom he married May 16, 1959; three sons and a daughter, Lawrence (Glenda) Tinlin of Plain City, Stan Tinlin of Dellroy, Mrs. Kevin (Laura) McClelland of Carrollton and Charlie (Karen) Tinlin ofDellroy; three brothers and two sisters, Harold (Tucky) Tinlin of Carrollton, Richard ?Dick? (Cherrie) Tinlin of East Sparta, Paul (Wanda) Tinlin of Dellroy and Alice Marie Robinson and Mrs. Bob (Betty) Leggett, both of Sherrodsville; asister-in-law, Pat Tinlin of Dellroy; a daughter-in-law, Mollie Tinlin of Dellroy; and an aunt, Thelma Ray of Canton. Eight grandchildren complete the family. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 12, 2004, in the Christ Community Church at Dellroy with Rev. Rick Chappelle officiating. Interment will be in the Sherrodsville Memorial Gardens, where the VFW, DAV and the AmericanLegion will conduct military graveside services. Calling hours will be held Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville and Saturday one hour prior to services at the church.
