Anita Jo Hayden WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Anita Jo Hayden, 53, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006, at Hospice of Palm Beach County in West Palm Beach, Fla., following a courageous battle with lung cancer. Although Anita's illness presented her with manychallenges, she faced them all while maintaining her characteristic bright, cheerful spirit. Chemotherapy caused Anita to lose the long hair that had been part of her signature style, but she continued to laugh and joke, sending portions of her hair to relatives in Ohio and donning brightly colored hats. A long time resident of Greenacres, Fla., Anita leaves behind a daughter, Sara, and husband, Donald, as well as many friends who will miss her immensely. The great outpouring of support Anita received from close friends as well as virtualstrangers during her illness is a testament to her charismatic personality, as those who met her found her impossible to forget. Anita was born in Nelsonville, Ohio, on Nov. 27, 1952, to Paul and Joanne Hayden. Her mother, Joanne, survives along with brothers, Al (Tamara) Hayden, and Danny (Jill) Hayden; sisters, Karla (Steve) Gregory, and Christi (Lloyd) Bending;sister-in-law, Joyce Hayden; and several nieces and nephews. Anita was preceded in death by her father, and brother, Paul "Pete" Hayden. Anita was a loyal, loving person who cared deeply about her family. She was energetic and lived each day to its fullest. Anita will be missed by all who had the privilegeof knowing her. A celebration of Anita's life will take place at 12:30 p.m. Feb. 25, 2006, at Prospect Street United Methodist Church, 185 S. Prospect St., Marion, OH. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
