Maggie L. Birtalan Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Austintown Baptist Church for Maggie L. Birtalan 87 of Minerva, OH, formerly of Austintown who passed away early Friday morning in Minerva Elder Care Center. Maggie was born September 14, 1916 in Garetta, GA the daughter of William Frank and Alma (Davidson) Cooper. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, as well as a member of the church. Her husband, the late Andrew Birtalan, whom she married August 15, 1942, passed away July 25, 1990. Maggie leaves a daughter, Shirley (Bill) Stack of Minerva, a son, Andrew F. Birtalan of Austintown; five grandchildren, Cindy Stack, Melonie (Dave) Garrett, and Bill Stack Jr. all of Minerva, and Frankie and Brian Birtalan of Canton, and six greatgrandchildren, Dustin Stack, Cru and Brent Garrett all of Minerva, Jessica, Frankie, and Jarred Birtalan of Canton. Besides her husband and parents, two sisters, Sara Jingles and Audrey Barrow also preceded Maggie in death. ANDREW F. BIRTALAN, 59, of Canfield, passed away Saturday afternoon at the Hospice House. Andrew was born December 8, 1948 in Dublin, GA, a son of the late Andy and Maggie (Cooper) Birtalan. He retired after 30 years at General Motors in Lorstown and had served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He is survived by two sons, Brian (Tanya Eckard) Birtalan of Campbell and Frank (Lorl Elliott) Birtalan of Canton; five grandchildren, Jessica, Andrew, Naveena, Frank Jr. and Jared; and a dear friend, Rexine Novicky. Besides his parents, Andrew is preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Stack. The family would like to thank the staff at the Hospice House for their help and compassion during Andrew's illness. Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel.
