Richard Lee Garrett, 68, of Augusta, died suddenly at Alliance Community Hospital, Sunday, August 8, 2004. Born in Triadelphia, OH, March 31, 1936, he was the son of the late Luther and Agnes (Maxwell) Garrett. He worked as a lead man at Caraustar in Minerva and was a member of Stillfork Presbyterian Church in Augusta. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Lou (Turnipseed) Garrett; sons, Richard Thomas Garrett of Augusta, Robert Lee (Debbie) Garrett of Augusta, David Allen (Melonie) Garrett of Minerva; sisters Doris Burrows of Minerva, Barbara Kail of Secretary, MD; brothers, Wayne Garrett of Minerva and Eldon Garrett of Mechanicstown; grandchildren, Jennifer and Justin Garrett of Augusta, Cru and Brent Garrett of Minerva and his dog, Jessie. Funeral services will be held at the Stillfork Presbyterian Church in Augusta at 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 11, 2004 with Rev. James Rice officiating. Burial will be in Augusta Cemetery. Note: Rich was enjoying the evening of August 7, 2004, on the back porch of his home at 8147 Andora Road, Augusta, Ohio. He was with his wife, Mary Lou Turnipseed Garrett, and her cousin Bette Ina Brown. Suddenly, he raised one arm, then the other and slumped in his chair. Although he was pronounced dead at Alliance Hospital just seconds after midnight, he, in fact, died on his porch in Augusta, Ohio on August 7, 2004.

John Burrows POSTED: June 19, 2008 MORNING JOURNAL – Columbiana County, OH MINERVA — John D. Burrows, 69, of Minerva, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at Great Trail Care Center following a long illness. John was born in Hanover Township, Ohio, on June 4, 1939, the son of the late John and Alice (Barnes) Burrows. He was the owner of the Independent Buyers Association for 30 years. John is survived by his wife, Doris (Garrett) Burrows; two sons, Greg Burrows of Cleveland, Doug (Kerri) Burrows of Spring Hill, Fla.; granddaughter, Karlee Burrows; two sisters, Kathy Richter of Clearwater, Fla., Dorothy Ketchum of Lisbon, Ohio,and two brothers, Glen Burrows of Delmont, Pa., Clyde Burrows of San Diego, Calif. He is preceded in death by a sister, Mary Wallace. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2008, at the Bethesda Presbyterian Church in Millport with Pastor Bill Grubbs officiating.
