Addison L. Curry, 83, of Rt 1, Amsterdam, father of Miss Irene Curry of the Carrollton High School faculty, died Monday in his home after a lengthy illness. He has been an oil and gas driller and operator for 45 years until retiring 15 years ago. Mr Curry was born Jan. 8, 1878, in Augusta, a son of Isaac and Sarah (Manfull) Curry. Surviving are his widow, Mrs Mae (Yingling) Curry; a son, Augustus of Rt 1, Amsterdam; another daughter, Mrs Philip Stibbe of Cleveland; a brother, Clem Curry of Minerva, and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters. Services will be at 2pm Thursday in the Sweeney Funeral Home at Amsterdam with Rev. Loman Fish officiating. Burial will be in Simmons Ridge Cemetery, near Amsterdam.
