LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT EDWARD LAFFERTY DATED: OCTOBER 16, 1903 DATE OF DEATH: October 26, 1903 IN THE NAME OF THE BELOVED FATHER OF ALL: AMEN. I, EDWARD LAFFERTY, of the Township of East, County of Carroll and State of Ohio, being about sixty five years of age, and of sound and disposing mind and memory, do make, publish and declare this my LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT, hereby revoking and making null and void all other Last Wills and Testaments by me made heretofore: FIRST: My Will is, that all my just Debts and Funeral Expenses shall be paid out of my Estate, as soon after my decease as shall be found convenient. SECOND: I Give, Devise and Bequeath to the following persons: I give all my wife’s bodily wearing apparel from head to foot: MRS. B. J. HESTON and MRS. SAMANTHA SHAW equally; My bodily wearing apparel to brothers, JACKSON and JOHN LAFFERTY, equally; The largest picture of self and wife, give to CORA and MAGGIE LAFFERTY; The large pictures of father and mother Long to MARY E. IDEN; The enlarged picture of Mother Lafferty to JACKSON LAFFERTY; The large picture of Christ reflected goes to CORA and MAGGIE LAFFERTY; The Crosses on Calvary to go to MRS. B. J. HESTON; The picture of Washington and wife to JOHN LAFFERTY; My Large Pictorial Family Bible to the STILLFORK CHURCH; The large bureau to VERNA NOLING; My watch and its appurtenances to AUSTIN RAY; My ____ legged footstool to MRS. MAY RAY; The cupboard or table dishes to MRS. B. J. HESTON, MRS. SAMANTHA SHAW, CORA and MAGGIE LAFFERTY; The Crucifixion of our Savior to MRS. B. J. HESTON. The _____ Rug to MRS. SAMANTHA SHAW; The cushions and rugs to MRS. B. J. HESTON and SAMANTHA SHAW, CORA and MAGGIE LAFFERTY; Enough money out of my estate to finish the inscription on our monument. All my property both real and personal to be sold to best advantage, public or private, and divided in the following manner: Out of the ONE HALF Edward J. Long to receive FIFTY DOLLARS ($50.00) to be given to him as soon as estate can be settled. Out of the same half EDWARD LONG, SON OF GEORGE LONG, to get FIFTY DOLLARS ($50.00) to be set aside as soon as estate can be settled and left in his father’s care, George Long, to be paid to son with int. accrued when he arrives at the age of 20 years. And the BALANCE OF THE FIRST HALF to be divided equally between JOHN HESTON, JESSIE A. HESTON and MRS. LIZZIE KELLEY, wife of John Kelley. Of the SECOND HALF I will to EDWARD LAFFERTY, son of Elmer W. Lafferty, the sum of FIFTY DOLLARS ($50.00) to be left in care of his father until he is 20 years of age with accrued int., and FIFTY DOLLARS ($50.00) to be left – EACH OF E. W. LAFFERTY FAMILY NOW LIVING. The BALANCE OF THE SECOND HALF to CORA and MAGGIE LAFFERTY equally. Any one of he heirs becoming dissatisfied with the division of the property forfeits their interest and that to be equally divided between the heirs mention interested in that part. It is further my will and wish that ROBERT ARTHUR act as my EXECUTOR. In Testimony whereof, I have set my hand to this my LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT, at home, this 16TH DAY OF October in the year of our Lord One Thousand 9 Hundred and 3.
