Lafayette Charles "Lafe" Kinsey, age 84, of Augusta, died at his home Saturday, August 8, 1998. He was born in Wellsville, OH, on January 29, 1914, the son of the late Thomas and Emma (Hiner) Kinsey. He worked at the Sealtest Receiving Stationfor 25 years, and was the custodian at the Augusta School for 12 years. He was a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by his daughter, Sandra Kaye Cox of East Rochester; son, Jeffrey Lynn Kinsey of Minerva; brother, William Kinsey of Minerva; sisters, Dorothy Locke of Minerva, Evelyn Kinsey of Cleveland, Emma Rhodes of Cleveland, Christina Osslerof Carrollton; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou (Totten) Kinsey Dean; brothers, Thomas and George and sisters, Mary Turnipseed and Pauline Brown.

Emma (Kinsey) Rhodes
Age 90, of Cleveland, died Wednesday, April 10, 2013, in Cleveland. She was born April 20, 1922, in Augusta, the daughter of the late Thomas and Emma (Hiner) Kinsey. She was the owner of the E&E Tavern in Cleveland for 35 years. Beloved wife ofthe late Elmer J. Rhodes. She is a member of the Stillfork Presbyterian Church in Augusta and a 60 plus year member of Carroll Chapter O.E.S. #415 in Carrollton. Emma graduated from Augusta High School in 1939.
Beloved mother of Randal (Barb) Rhodes of Mentor, Rhonda (Randy) Lehto of Medina and Robert (Donna) Rhodes of Shalersville; one living sister, Evelyn Erla Kinsey of Cleveland; six grandchildren: Kimberly Stephens, Bryon Posey, William Posey,Craig Posey, Ryan Rhodes and Kevin Rhodes; 14 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by four sisters, Christina Ossler, Dorothy Locke, Mary Turnipseed, Pauline Brown; four brothers, Thomas, Lafayette, George and Bill Kinsey.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev. Ryan Hale officiating. Burial will be in Augusta Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday 2-5 p.m. at the funeral home, with Eastern StarServices at 5 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Augusta Cemetery Association. Age 87, of Augusta, died Thursday, May 19, 2016 in the Carroll Golden Age Retreat. She was born April 30, 1929 in Augusta to Thomas and Emma (Hiner) Kinsey. She was owner and operator of the Paradise Inn in Cleveland for 60 years, had also owned the Oasis in Malvern and had worked at the American Switch in Minerva. She is a member of the Augusta Presbyterian Church and a 70 year member of Carroll Chapter #315 Order of the Eastern Star. She was a dog lover and an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns.
She will be dearly missed by her 31 nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by 9 brothers and sisters, Mary Turnipseed, Christine Ossler, Emma Rhodes, Dorothy Locke, Pauline Brown, George, Lafe, Bill and Thomas Kinsey.
Funeral services will be Monday, May 23, 2016 at 11:00 am in the Augusta Presbyterian Church with Rev. Ryan Hale officiating.
Burial will be in the Crawford Addition to the Augusta Cemetery.
Calling hours will be one hour prior to services at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
