Buried at St. John the Baptist Church, East Markham, Bassetlaw, Nottinghamshire, England: LADY ELIZABETH BOURDON (BURDON), BARONESS OF MARKHAM, was born about 1408 of Sedgebrook, Lincolnshire, England, to Sir Nicholas Bourdon (1380-1472) and Lady Millicent De Beckering (1487-1475.) She married Robert Markham about 1425 of Sedgebrook, Lincolnshire, England. Elizabeth Bourdon passed away about 1460 of Sedgebrook, Lincolnshire, England, age 52. The building has an 18th century appearance. A web source cites Judge Markham as the earliest known resident. However, it appears this manor came into the Markham family through marriage from the De Beckering family. Millicent was born in Sedgebrook and appears to have been her father's heir. References to the Markham family do not refer to this as one of the several Markham family manors.
