William Edward "Ed" Johnson, Jr., age 66, of Carrollton passed away Friday, Dec. 14, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton, Ohio. He was born July 18, 1946 in Beckley, W.Va., to William Edward Johnson, Sr., and Helen Johnson. He was a welder for American Steel for 30 years. He retired from President Local Steel Workers. He loved hunting, was an avid Harley Rider and was a trustee of the Carrollton Eagles. Ed was married May 24, 2007 to Sandra Kay (Sandridge) Johnson. Other survivors are a son, Mark Boyles of Carrollton; three daughters, Melissa (Bill) Hawkins of Carrollton, Cora (Monte) Sharp of Minerva and Shelby (Tracy) Moats of Minerva; a brother, David (Karen) Johnson of Carrollton and three sisters, Sue, Connie and Irene; two granddaughters, Brandy (Cody) Brothers of Magnolia and Gabrielle Irwin of Carrollton and five great-grandchildren. Funeral service for Ed will be Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the Allmon Dugger Cotton Funeral Home with Pastor Burt McGlavin officiating. She was born March 20, 1969 in Canton to the late William “Ed” Johnson and Bertha (Kidd) Leasure. She was preceded in death by her father William “Ed” Johnson and her aunt Kathy Poole. She is survived by her husband of 7 years, William Hawkins, her two daughters, Brandy (Cody) Brothers of Magnolia and Gabrielle Irwin of Carrollton, her mother Bertha (Frank) Leasure and three grandchildren that were her world, Trent, Karlee and Dolan Brothers. Calling hours will be Monday, Sept. 3 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 4, at Allmon Dugger Cotton Funeral Home in Carrollton with Pastor Grace Baughman officiating. Burial will follow at Augusta Cemetery in Augusta.
