Wife of Henry T. Feldman, daughter of Frederick and Louise Morinleiter Hoyer. Mrs. Louise Feldman, daughter of Frederick and Louise Hoyer, was born in Hanover, Germany, on November 29, 1853 and departed this life on Monday, April 9, 1934, at the age of 80 years, 4 monthsn 10 days. She was the eldest of a family of three children of whom only a brother, George E. Hoyer, survives; a sister, Mrs. August Franke, having preceded her in death some 8 years ago. Her parents came to America when she was four years old and established a home near Primrose, Iowa, where they lived until she was 13 years of age, then moving to Missouri and locating on a farm near the present site of Gorin. On March 18,1872, she united in marriage to Henry Theodore Feldman, assuming the care for two motherless children on whome she lavished tender care until the son, Johnnie, at the age of years was taken by death. She became the mother of eight children of whom five survive to mourn the death of a loving mother. They are Dora (Mrs. Stephen Kerner) of Waconda; Fred H. of Yankton, South Dakota; Henry A. of Grange; Sophia (Mrs. Jasper Kerner) of Luray; and Irwin T. of Lewistown, all of whom were with her in her last illness. Eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive. Mother Feldman was a woman of high ideals and true Christian character and like many others her pleasures in life were intespersed with many sad trials, having been called upon to law away the step-daughter, Mollie (Mrs. John Briedenstein); two daughters, Amanda, (Mrs. James Graham) and Ina (Mrs. Earl Knight) and a son George Charles, and six years ago, March 16 her husband with whomshe lived 56 years. She was a faithful member of the Methodist Episcopal Church of Etna and had many friends in her surrounding community. Her children will miss the cheery face and gentle smiles. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 11, from the home of her son, Henry at 10:30 a.m. and at 11 a.m. from the church at Etna, with the local pastor, Rev. Hadley in charge. The hymns, "No Disappointments in Heaven," and "Death is Only a Dream," were sung by the choir. and a duet, "The Lights of Home," by Mrs. Hadley and Mrs. Ebling. Pallbearers were six grandsons Glen, Roy, and Ray Feldman, Orville Kerner, Hollis Leeper, and Hollis Speer. Interment was in the Etna Cemetery. Clark County Courier - April 20, 1934ed
