The Review about 10 hours ago Talmadge Rose, 77, of Alliance, died at 4:05 a.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at his home. He was born on Nov. 30, 1931, in Elliot County, Ky., and lived in Alliance since 1953. Talmadge served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. Mr. Rose retired after 30 years of service from American Steel, where he was employed as achipper. He was a lifetime member of the Knox Township Sportsman's Club, the Amateur Trapshooting Association and the Ohio State Trapshooting Hall of Fame. Talmadge was an avid hunter and sportsman. Talmadge is survived by his wife, Jewell (Holbrook) Rose, whom he married on March 16, 1953; a son, Michael Rose of Alliance; three grandchildren, Tara Rose of North Canton, Brandon Rose of Alliance and Kyle Rose of Alliance; a sister, MaxineHarris of Olive Hill, Ky.; five brothers, Jim Rose of Marlboro, Jeff Rose of Minerva, and Jake, Larry and Bruce Rose Jr., all of Olive Hill, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were a son, Danny Rose; his parents, Bruce and Gladys (Holbrook) Rose; and a brother, John Rose. The family will receive friends from 7 - 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2009, at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 13, 2009, at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. Interment,with military honors provided by Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, will follow at Highland Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 5455 N. High St., Columbus, Ohio 43214, the American Cancer Society, 525 N.
