Clyde W. Hoopes Clyde W. Hoopes, 89, of Augusta, died Friday, September 2, 2005 in Great Trail Care Center following a long illness. Born in Augusta Township, May 5, 1916, he was the son of the late Arthur and Laura (Roby) Hoopes. He worked as a driver for Railway Express and UPS. He was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and the D of A. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of Tubal Lodge F & AM, Esther Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star and the Scottish Rite. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Neta (Marteney) Hoopes; daughter, Barbara (Richard) Brown of Minerva; granddaughter, Alana of Akron; stepdaughter, Shirley Blain of Akron; sister, Letha Cogan of Minerva; nine step grandchildren; twenty stepgreat-grandchildren and one step great great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Ferol Hoopes in 1964. Funeral services will be held in the Bartley Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2005 with Rev. David Sperry officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be held in the Bartley Funeral Home Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Masonic services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
