SE, Carrollton, O., died Friday, June 18, 2004, in the Hennis Care Center at Dover, O., following a short illness.
She was born Jan. 14, 1918, in Union Township, Carroll County. She was the daughter of the late Ross and Lula (Saltsgiver) Toot. She was a life resident of Carroll County.
She was a member of the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, former Petersburg Grange, Carroll County Homemakers Assn., and the Union Township Craft Club.
She was married on May 21, 1942, to Sherman O. Marteney, who died on Oct. 20, 1995.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Sam and Linda Anderson Marteney of Byesville, O., David and Gerry Marteney and Jeff and Marcella Marteney, all of Carrollton; one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Donald Williams of Dellroy;one brother, George Toot of Carrollton; one sister, Mrs. Alex (Naomi) Supler of Chicago, Ill.; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Toot, and two sisters, Lois Gartrell and Irene Kelley.
Funeral services will be held at the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Wayne Scott officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at the Allmon-Dugger-Cotton Funeral Home in Carrollton on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
